As part of its commitment to public outreach the Metropolitan Center presents the "MetroForum". The gathering provides high neutral ground for discussions on public policy. Open to the public, they are designed to bring together academics, elected officials, business and community leaders around issues of critical concern to South Florida.
Invited speakers represent authorities in their fields. Topics have included elections analysis, legislative analysis, poverty, housing, urban redevelopment, homeowner's insurance, hurricane risk and mitigation, municipal management, economic development infill, the funding of sports stadiums, public health, and governmental reform.
Our most recent MetroForum "State of the South Florida Economy: South Florida's Next 20 Years" was on May 11, 2018 and covered topics including economic opportunity and wage dynamics, the economy and affordable housing, and post-Irma hurricane resilience. For more information, please click here.
