DEWEY KNIGHT JR. SCHOLARSHIP
The Dewey Knight Jr. Scholarship is awarded annually to minority undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the Public Administration Program at Florida International University. Candidates who wish to apply for the scholarship should hold at least a 3.0 GPA and be involved in extracurricular activities related to the field. Candidates should exhibit a committment to public service and dedication to the realm of public administration. Scholarships are awarded each Fall Semester. Recipients recieve full-tuition for one academic year and recognition at the October MetroForum Breakfast Series hosted in honor of the late Dewey Knight Jr. If you would like to apply for the 2008 Dewey Knight Scholarship, please click here and follow the application instructions for submission.

WASHINGTON CENTER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Now in its 31st year, The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars is an educational nonprofit organization serving hundreds of colleges and universities in the U.S. and other countries by providing selected students challenging opportunities to work and learn in Washington, D.C. for academic credit. The largest such program, The Washington Center has over 35,000 alumni, many of whom are leaders in numerous professions and nations around the world.
This year, the Washington Center and the Metropolitan Center at FIU are proudly working together in order to provide 5 students with full scholarships and 20 fifty-percent scholarships to participate in the Washington Center's internship program. The Washington Center provides diverse, highly motivated interns to thousands of organizations in government, business and the non-profit sector. They contribute significantly to their placements and often prove to be of longer-term interest as prospective employees.
More broadly, The Washington Center maintains a vital role in service to society as a whole, developing the workforce of the future and encouraging all of its participants to be informed, public-spirited and civically engaged. For this reason, The Washington Center has support from a growing array of states, federal agencies, corporations, foundations, and private donors.
FIU LEGISLATIVE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM If you are an undergraduate student with at least a 3.0 GPA and are interested in state, local, and national politics, you may be eligible to register for an credit-based internship program at FIU. These Legislative Internships will offer you the opportunity to explore the inner-workings of the political process and may even allow YOU to make a difference in your community.
