Dr. Ralph Rosado, Affiliate Fellow at the Metropolitan Center, to receive planning award

Coral Villas Park is the newest park in Miami-Dade County, created as a result of a sustained, grassroots neighborhood effort spearheaded by Neighbors of Schenley Park, a voluntary neighborhood association. This effort was awarded the Grassroots Initiative Award by the Gold Coast APA Chapter for 2014. Coral Villas Park is the first such park in the area in over 50 years, and – to the recollection of County Parks Department staff – represents one of only a handful of resident-led new-park initiatives in county history.
