MDEAT has a Homeownership Assistance Program that was created in 1995 to provide up to $7,250 in down payment assistance to first time home buyers. Over the years, they have funded more than 7,500 families and have provided more than $42 million in down payment assistance. 40% of those families have been Black. This town hall will help identify policy items that we can be action items for our advocacy committees and presented before the Board of Commissioners for consideration.
