Addressing Coastal Vulnerabilities and Mitigating Losses: Public Response to Hurricane Risk and Sea Level Rise
This free webinar will discuss what local governments and agencies are doing to reduce hurricane damage in the context of sea-level rise challenges. Researchers from the FIU Metropolitan Center will present local and national measures and best practices employed by public entities to prepare and mitigate against hurricanes.
The webinar will also be the first release of the Metropolitan Center’s annual hurricane poll results which track Florida residents' awareness and preparation at the start of the hurricane season, as well as perceptions on sea level rise and various measures to prevent damage and losses.
